ETA Coach Athlete Consultation

When trying to figure out how to take your training to the next level, you need to look at many different factors. Although there are many variables to consider, the most important ones are your short- and long-term goals, current and past training habits, current and past race results, time availability, and the balancing act between life/family/sport. The Athlete Consultation is for athletes who are looking to make some changes in their training, but aren’t quite sure where to start. This consultation is also suggested for any athlete looking to be coached by an ETA Coach. After the above factors are considered, along with each athlete filling out our extensive athlete packet, the athlete will sit down with the coach to go over all that was observed and be given a detailed breakdown of some possible training approaches they could take. Our goal after each Athlete Consultation is for the athlete to walk away with a whole new way to approach their training with an emphasis on improving performance, preventing injury, and having fun, all within the athlete’s time availability. We strongly believe in providing the athlete with the right tools to meet their goals!

Session 1: Initial interview

Initial Interview – This interview is done over the phone and allows your coach to get to know you a little bit better and ultimately get a sense of how you want to improve your training.

Paperwork Distributed – At the end of your phone interview, you will be e-mailed the ETA Coach Athlete forms. These forms are very extensive, because the more we know about you, your health, and your training habits, the more detail we can provide on how to take your training to the next level! Each athlete will also be asked to put together a detailed list of questions they would like to discuss during the second interview.

Session 2: Second Interview

After all paper work is completed and analyzed, a final in person consult will be scheduled so the coach can explain their recommendations and answer all your questions. An in-depth analysis recap will be given to the athlete with ways to take their training to the next level. This analysis will show suggested workouts, goals, nutritional advice, and a “sample” month of training, giving the athlete a clear picture of where their strengths and weaknesses are and how to properly go about improving all aspects of their training.
